Lounge terms and conditions

Bookings

1.

1.1 Lounge bookings can be made online at bmibaby.com and via the call centre at the time of booking flights. If you wish to add lounge access to your flight booking at a later date, then you can do this by accessing “manage your bookings” at the top of this page or contact the call centre. 

1.2 Lounges and fast track are available at selected airports only, if available, details will be displayed during the booking process

1.3 bmibaby lounge access vouchers are not valid for children under 14 or under such higher minimum age as may be specified by the relevant airport.  bmibaby shall not be liable to refund any vouchers if entrance to lounges is refused to any passenger under the applicable minimum age.  Where the relevant airport’s minimum age is lower than 14, if you have children under 14 in your party please contact the relevant airport direct to make a booking

1.4 bmibaby lounge access vouchers cannot be booked later than midnight on the day before departure

1.5 bmibaby lounge access vouchers and fast track are only available at bmibaby.com and not at the airport

1.6 On completion of your booking you will receive a voucher which is your booking notification and consists of the passenger name(s), booking reference, number of passengers and date and time of flight. Please print this voucher off and present it to the staff upon arrival at the executive lounge. If you are travelling from Birmingham and have purchased a lounge and would like to use the fasttrack service you must obtain the required pass from the bmibaby ticket desk.

1.7 Lounge access is not permitted more than two hours prior to your scheduled departure time unless you check in online in which case you can enter the lounge up to 3 hours before your flight. A maximum stay of two hours is permitted at any time, even in the event of a delay

1.8 The booking confirmation setting out the charges paid for your flights and lounge access voucher constitutes your VAT receipt for lounge access.

1.9 Lounge access is included in the ticket price for FlyExtra passengers and is subject to availability. If lounge access is unavailable FlyExtra passenagers will not be entitled to a refund.

Lounge Fees & Facilities

2.1 Lounge costs are charged per person, per one way flight and may vary by airport

2.2 lounge fees are inclusive of VAT at the current applicable standard rate

3. Lounge Facilities

3.1 Facilities may vary by lounge. Lounge facilities include the provision of an executive waiting area in the departure area of the airport with seating and refreshment facilities normally including:

  • a range of alcoholic beverages, wines, beers and spirits (generally passengers are allowed two alcoholic beverages per adult over 18); a variety of soft drinks; tea and coffee; a choice of snacks (e.g. peanuts, cocktail biscuits etc.); a range of magazines and newspapers; and telephones and telefaxes for use at the passenger’s expense.

3.2 Passengers must not remove food or drinks from the Lounge and shall refrain from consuming food and/or drinks in the Lounge other than food and/or drinks provided in the Lounge.

3.3 Reasonable endeavours will be made to provide the Lounge Facilities during the hours advertised for each Airport, but the lounge operator reserves the right to vary the hours of operation or close the lounge due to refurbishment, relocation or otherwise in which case an alternative lounge facility will be provided or (except in the case of Cardiff Airport) a refund of the Charges will be made at the discretion of the lounge operator. In relation to Cardiff Airport, in the unlikely event that entry to the Lounge is refused due to capacity constraints or for other reasons as specified above, holder of a valid lounge entry voucher will receive a voucher to the value of £10.00 to be spent at airport facilities in addition to a complimentary voucher for their next visit to the Lounge.

3.4 Lounge opening times vary by airport. Please see the table below for details:

Passengers Obligations

4.

4.1 Access to and use of the lounges and fasttrack when it is available is subject to the rules and regulations terms published from time to time by the operators of the airport and/or lounge. For further details please contact the airport direct. Without prejudice to the foregoing, the following rules apply at all airports

4.2 The fasttrack product does not guarantee any customer will have the opportunity to pass through security quicker than normal. It is the responsibility of passengers to report to the boarding gate at the time shown on their boarding card. bmibaby will not be held liable for any passenger failing to board who holds a fasttrack pass.

4.3 Reasonable behaviour is expected from all passengers using the lounges. The airport operator reserves the right to refuse admission to, or remove from, the lounge any person whose behaviour or mode of dress is unacceptable or likely to offend other passengers.  Some airports operate strict dress codes (for example football colours may not be permitted).  Passengers are strongly advised to check with the airport before travelling. bmibaby cannot accept liability for any refusal to allow access to any lounge for non-compliance with the airport’s dress code click here for more information

4.4 Smoking is not permitted otherwise than in designated areas

4.5 bmibaby cannot be held liable or responsible for the personal belongings of any passenger.  Passengers take personal belongings into the Lounge area solely at their own risk

4.6 At many airports flight departures are not announced in the lounges. It is the responsibility of passengers to report to the boarding gate at the time shown on their boarding card. bmibaby will not be held liable for any passenger failing to board.

Liability

5.

5.1 Lounges are owned and operated by third parties, usually the airport company or a lessee licensee or contractor of the airport company. In selling lounge access vouchers bmibaby acts as the agent of the relevant lounge operator. Passengers using the lounges do so in accordance with the terms, conditions, rules and regulations published from time to time by the relevant lounge operator and/or airport. For further details please contact the relevant airport direct.  bmibaby shall not be liable for the acts or omissions of the lounge operator and/or airport.  Save as otherwise provided by law, in no circumstances shall bmibaby’s liability to any person in respect of access to or use of the lounges or any facilities therein exceed the sum paid by such person for the lounge access voucher.  Nothing in this clause shall be deemed to limit or exclude bmibaby’s liability for death or personal injury or for fraud. Lounges are operated by various companies on behalf of bmibaby.

Changes, delays & disruptions

6.

6.1 Lounge access vouchers are non-refundable and non transferable save as provided in these terms and conditions.

6.2 In the event of flight disruption i.e. delays and/or cancellations, bmibaby will contact the lounge operator and request passenger access to the lounge. In these circumstances lounge bookings are not guaranteed due to capacity restrictions. If access to the lounge is not possible due to capacity restrictions, at Cardiff Airport vouchers will be issued as per condition 3.3 above. In the case of all other airports, refunds may be given at the discretion of the lounge operator.

6.3 bmibaby reserves the right to make schedule changes to flight times and dates. If your flight time is changed, a new voucher will be reissued confirming lounge entry details.

6.4 Lounge access vouchers and fast track are not transferable between airports.  In the event of a change of departure airport by bmibaby, if alternative lounge access is not available passengers are advised to write to bmibaby customer relations click here for address for a refund to be issued.  In the event that the passenger changes departure airport, no refund will be given

6.5 In the event that passengers make changes to flight bookings i.e. name or date changes, up to  midnight on the day before departure, any associated lounge access vouchers will be reissued with updated details. The original voucher will no longer be valid for access.

6.6 Passengers making changes to bookings on the day of travel must use the original voucher.

6.7 No refunds or credit will be given for unused vouchers.
